Why offer yourself self-compassion?
In response to that question, ask, “Why not offer yourself self-compassion?” Why withhold something from yourself that is positive, wholesome, and beneficial? If something has those qualities, do you think it would be good to utilize it in your own life?
Okay, so that’s a point. But what is self-compassion anyway? Self-compassion has to do with being understanding towards yourself and offering yourself kindness, just as you would to a close or dear friend. It’s giving yourself the support you need to advise yourself with positive thoughts and emotions. Providing yourself with self-compassion sets you in a different mind frame from self-doubt, self-criticism, self-depreciation, and self-excuse.
You might ask, “Isn’t self-compassion more along the lines of giving yourself excuses?”
No, the two are not the same. Self-compassion is defined as the practice of treating yourself with kindness and understanding, especially during challenging moments. It involves recognizing one’s difficulties and responding to them with care rather than self-criticism.
One way to understand self-compassion is to think of mistakes as being a situation from which you can learn something.
Self-pity vs. Self-compassion
Self-compassion is not self-pity and making self-excuses, but rather, it is proactively acknowledging and valuing your emotional and physical well-being, happiness, and transforming negative thought patterns, attitudes, emotions and behaviors into positive ones.
Self-pity and self-excuse is enabling yourself to remain in the same negative mindset; whereas, self-compassion is engaging a positive mindset and kindness towards yourself that enables you to move forward, taking positive, proactive, progressive steps.
Self-compassion is recognizing that there can be inadequacies and challenges in the human experience. Self-compassion is not putting yourself down, but being mindful to maintain an awareness of negative emotions and not applying them to your self-perception.
In life, you might experience setbacks, have felt discouraged, or unprepared, but calling yourself a “failure” only serves to increase feelings of self-depreciation and discouragement, which contribute to hindering progress and can negatively impact mental well-being. Negative self-talk does not promote a growth mindset. It’s beneficial to mental well-being to develop constructive, positive self-talk and self-perception.

Meditation
Meditation is a way of de-stressing your mind, body and relaxing that can be done regularly. Sit quietly, comfortably, and do the meditation.
Take three deep calming, cleansing breaths.
Relax. Breathe in slowly, breathing in calm and relaxation.
Breathe out slowly, releasing feelings of anxiety and stress.
Breathe easily, relax, relax.
Breathe out slowly feeling tension being released from your mind and muscles. You feel calm, no bombarding thoughts.
Breathe in self-compassion.
Exhale slowly releasing negative self-concepts.
Breathe easily feeling a deep sense of relaxation and peace.
Affirmation
Say the following affirmation aloud with a positive feeling of intention. Repeat the affirmation at least two times. Fill in the blank with whatever you’re feeling stuck or confused about.
I refuse to feel stuck about blank.
I refuse to have a frame of thought and mindset of feeling stuck or confused. I have a positive mindset for a good outcome and relevant solutions are happening for me now. I take proactive, positive action.
Self-compassion Exercise
Self-compassion is offering yourself the same advice, understanding, and kindness to yourself that you would offer a friend.
Write down the situation you need to have self-compassion toward. Write about the challenge you felt in that moment, in that situation, and the choice you made. Why did you make that choice?
Write about what advice you would give a friend you truly cared about if they were in that situation. Apply understanding, kindness, and self-compassion to yourself regarding the situation you experienced. Is there any beneficial advice you can give yourself or would have given yourself in the area you need it or need it now?
Explore greater self-awareness, self-appreciation, journaling experience in responding to journal prompts, and writing love letters to yourself in, “Love Letters to Myself: The Wonderfulness of Me Journal.”

It is essential to navigate yourself toward being the happy, healthy and successful you.
How do you hold on to the real truth about yourself after coming through challenging circumstances and relationships?
It goes back to the basics and the fundamental that you have the fundamental right to happiness and being the best you, you create yourself to be. But those hurtful experiences and challenges tried to undermine that. Take the lessons you’ve learned and rise above the pain, the victimization and disadvantageous situations.
Sometimes there’s no one there physically to hold your hand and help you out. But there is your deep inner authentic self who knows how to lead you out of the chaos, out of the pain. Let the spark of Truth begin to ignite that you deserve good. Even if you don’t believe it, accept it as the principal, the truth, your personal truth that you apply to yourself, instead of the negativity around you and negative self-talk you might have engaged in most of the time.
Show Yourself Love
Accept that change is possible. Desire good change. And then start to take positive actions to create the good that you want in your life, beginning with positive self-talk.
Remember that negative words were projected at you repeatedly until you came to believe them about yourself. So you will need to put in the repeated positive thoughts to get rid of the negative ones. Then thinking more positively will become more natural than thinking negatively.
Forgiving yourself and forgiving others is also important in the step to feeling better, experiencing better, and being the better you! Know that the better and best you is inside of you and has always been there.
Get Motivated
It comes to the point in life of defining for yourself your good thoughts about yourself and getting rid of those negative perceptions that others labeled you; so you can believe you deserve good and receive good.
There are those individuals who see the good in you because they are seeing the real you. Therefore, they have no problem in understanding that you deserve good. So, you need to rethink how you see yourself through a more positive perspective about yourself.

What is your mindset about money?

One of the greatest feelings in the world is to feel the joy of knowing that you love yourself. There is an inner peace that you feel no matter what the other circumstances are in your life.
Loving yourself is connecting to your deep true authentic best self that’s always present within you and guiding you in a good way throughout your life.
In life, you might have experienced others saying things like:
- “You’re not going to amount to anything!”
- “You don’t deserve that!”
- “You’re so stupid!”
- “You’re dumb!”
- “You’re just like…!” so and so, whom they had the least regard for.
Over the years, you might have had similar experiences to the labels they tried to apply to you at school, work, by friends and even family members. Those experiences were most likely generated from the projection of the negative words that fed your mind and feelings those false concepts. Those negative perceptions might have felt like the truth if the people who were saying the disadvantageous words to you were parents, siblings, teachers, supervisors, friends and such.
It’s scientific that you learn as you are growing. And the negative, unproductive, hurtful words said to you might have impacted the way you see yourself, your limiting beliefs about yourself; thereby, impacting the type of experiences you experienced in your reality.
You can actualize positive changes in your reality by redefining your self-perceptions and viewpoint in life.
How many people look at self-confident people and wish that they could experience life through that lens view of confidence?
How did that person become confident to handle daily matters and life in general with so much confidence?
Did confident people always have confidence or did they have to learn it?

On what subject(s) are you an authority?
English has remained a strong point throughout my life. Growing up, I had to do extra studies at home besides school work and homework. Initially, I was a great fan of reading. I had to practice penmanship at home as a part of my home studies. I enjoyed practicing my handwriting skills using an article on Shakespeare in the encyclopedia. This has led me to think of creative little stories as I was growing up and to enjoy writing the children’s stories and self-growth ebooks I’ve written today.
Art has also played a big role in my life.
I enjoy cultural diversity and the arts are a delightful way of cultural and visual expression. I am a self-taught artist and paint from what I want to express.
I appreciate spectrums of art from traditional presentations, Art Nouveau, Impressionism, Cubism; however, Modern, Minimalism, Contemporary and Abstract Expressionism inspire and appeal to me most. My paintings reflect modern, minimalist, contemporary and abstract visual presentations.
I think that art presents itself as a visual language without speech barriers. Art gives the human imagination depth, color, emotion, and expression. The artist’s creativity is exemplified in artistic expression that displays the artist’s unique perspective of the matter.
I enjoy digital art and I am now exploring painting acrylics on canvas. I especially like minimalist and abstract expressions as a part of modern art-making. Hi. My name is Julia Ricci. I was born in America, but my mom is from France and my father was born in Italy. My parents divorced when I was 5 years old. I live in the town of Austin in Hemsley, Penoria.
I loved blowing bubbles when I was 5 years old. It was a cool trick that my mom taught me to make me feel like I was blowing my worries away. I worried about how me, my sister Sofi, and my mom would get along now that my dad wasn’t there anymore.
At 7 years old, I was a pro at blowing bubbles. My friends and I would have a contest to see who could blow the biggest bubble. I usually won. Let’s say I had a lot of practice at it. Hey! It’s really cool.
But now I’m a tween. Yeah! Zippy! I’m celebrating and loving it, even though there are so many changes from when I was younger to now. My best friends are Tracy and Lisa. We write in our diaries and share a lot of what we write about.
Anyway, as I was saying, in a way of introducing myself, I’m sensitive. Actually, I’m a tad bit over sensitive and my feelings get hurt easily sometimes, which is something I’m working on. My friends help to keep me in check about it. Tracy would make jokes and Lisa would tell me, “What advice would you give yourself?” She says that because she knows I’m pretty good at giving advice.
I like to stay positive and I’m non-judgemental. My mom tells me that’s a very grown-up attitude. I don’t like people judging me, so I figure I shouldn’t judge other people either. I’m eco-friendly. I think we have to take care of the earth as best as we can. I think that developed from one of my first chores, which was putting the water bottles in the recycling garbage.
Ok, I got to admit, I’m more of a serious kind of person. But, hold up! I’m really cool and one of my biggest likes is fashion. It’s a secret thing of mine to do sketches of outfits. Not even Lisa and Tracy know that I do sketches!

You can think of meditations and affirmations as creative and manifesting tools that you can use to strengthen your consciousness. They are instruments to help create a positive mindset subconsciously and consciously.
Your subconscious mind records what it has learned through observation, what it’s heard and what it has been told.
Your subconscious mind stores all this information and plays them back into your daily circumstances and life however it deems appropriate, negatively or positively.
The power of the conscious mind is that it can instruct the subconscious mind in proactive, positive training to create and manifest positive thought patterns, emotions and behaviors.
Meditation and affirmation are training tools to effect positive change subconsciously and consciously to create and manifest positive outcomes in your life.
The more you repeat the affirmation and meditation, the more your mind–consciously and subconsciously–will begin to accept them as true and; hence, that will translate into you behaving accordingly as well; thereby, creating and manifesting positivity and what you want.
This also allows you to exhibit more positive emotions.
Think of your emotions attached to every thought in your mind by a string. Wherever that thought goes to–negative aspects, or positive assertions–the emotions dangling from that thought follow along and reflect that positive or negative spectrum and belief.
Your emotions look out of the window of your thoughts and “feel” what your thought reflects and observes. Your emotions respond to what it hears from your thoughts. So if your thought sees something as an “issue” your emotions will correlate to that perception.
